I will likely have to wait for it to go on sale though. While the standard MB EQ is nice, I really wish I had that little bit extra that 32C provides. I have been liking how my FP8 interacts with MB and have not yet explored the Console 1 midi-mode add-on (shame on me I know) but I plan to soon.Īnd yeah I am seeing that 32C will be in the cards one of these days.

I already own FP8 and Console 1 and they are an integral part of my Studio One workflow. It's funny how a new piece of gear lights a fire under us sometimes. (There is also the manual) Let us know what your system setup is as that helps people answer your questions.
#HARRISON MIXBUS 32C ANALOG HOW TO#
If you can't figure out how to do something in MB, this is a good place to ask. If you think you found a bug send them an email as there is no bug reporting place on this forum. Also, you will find that the Harrison folks are great, they answer there emails and they answer the phone and they will help you. There are lots of skilled audio people on this forum with lots of computer skills and they are very helpful. MB allows me not to have to use tape and have the best of both the analog world and the DAW world. I never work with more the 30 tracks, more often than not it's 24 or less. I do know that MB & MB 32C work great on my humble pc, it just works like an analog recording and mixing setup would work. If you are a serious "mixer" than you need MB 32C because there is a serious difference.Īs for all the "computer" stuff. The sound "out the door" is a step above. The eq is an emulation of the eq on the Harrison 32. Totally different sound engine than MB from what I understand. Normally not a big deal but I use a large 4K monitor. I wish it remembered their last position and opened them from there.

#HARRISON MIXBUS 32C ANALOG WINDOWS#
One thing that is annoying me is windows popping-up in the upper left of my screen even after I drag them to the middle and close them from there. just doesn't do auto track numbering and naming. I tried native Console 1 and it works fine. (stereo is listed first) Maybe those have all been fixed and I was reading old posts? So far I haven't run into any UAD issues other than figuring out which of the two identically named plugins is the stereo version and which is the mono. I have not even come close to looking at macros/scripting yet. Maybe a macro can fix that for me to simplify the process. used to having the option to do that in one step upon insert in S1, so that issue is out of the way too. So really, it will boil down to the "Mixbus sound" vs the "Console 1 channel strip sound" assuming I get on well with all the other DAW features.Īt first I was a little dismayed that I was limited to only 8 busses (my workflow relies on busses heavily) until I figured out I have to create an AUX channel (for FX returns) before I add the insert effect to the track. But, I know I have plugin support with the FaderPort 8 too which I have not explored yet either. but those are all things I have fingertip access to - and more - in Console 1 as well - and without a mouse. The tape saturation is indeed nice and I like the simplicity of the EQ which sounds nice too - but I need to go with 32C to get any HPF/LPF. Figuring out things as I go in the process. The StudioOne/FaderPort8/Console 1 triad is a pretty powerful setup and I am wondering if I would miss all that in MB. I really like how my FaderPort 8 just works in MB without any fuss in native mode so I can switch back to Studio One without having to reset the FP8. I have most of the C1 channel strips and so am pretty invested in the ecosystem. Just curious how people are getting along. However, are any of you using C1 and its plugins with the OSD or just as a midi controller with the above config?Īre you finding you don't really need the C1 channel strips with MB or do you still use them and how much? In Studio One, I use C1 on every single channel and bus as my "console emulation" (usually Brit Class A.) I saw this and it looks really nice: but I have not messed with it. So, I am wondering how you guys are implementing Console 1 into your workflow. I just got the $19 Mixbus offer the other day and so I'm evaluating how my current setup will work with it.
